Our First Ultrasound Appointment @ 8 Weeks

Today was our first OB appointment. It was an amazing appointment. We met with Dr Silas (who was referred by Jen No) and we couldn't be happier with him. Everyone always says you have to LOVE your OB doctor and I can really say that I loved him! He was so friendly and made us feel extremely comfortable. He was patient and took time to answer all our questions and gave us great advice. I was always nervous about going to a male OB/GYN but I can definitely say my feelings have changed after meeting Dr Silas.

We had our first ultrasound today. We were able to hear the heartbeat and see the tiny growing baby on the ultrasound. It was just amazing! The doctor said the baby's heartbeat is beating at a great pace and everything looked great. He printed out 3 ultrasound pictures for us to take home - two of them being 3D. The 3D pictures are so awesome! I can already see the baby's head, eyes, and little butt! It's the cutest little thing. I started to cry immediately. It felt so REAL and it really hit me that I am really carrying a little being inside me. I looked over at Shawn and he didn't cry but he had a huge smile on his face. The whole experience is so exciting. This is truly an amazing feeling and I feel so blessed and thankful to be able to go through this. I still look at my ultrasound pics everyday and can't wait for our next appointment on 3/16/09.
